Models for single cells computed!

We have successfully developed the first degradation models for five key electrolysis technologies: AEL, AEMEL, PEMEL, SOEL, and PCCEL. While different software platforms were applied for each case, a common workflow was followed:

  • Identification of degradation mechanisms
  • Modelling the mechanisms to capture their evolution and impact on performance
  • Integration into cell models, resulting in degradation-aware tools capable of predicting long-term behaviour

This effort enables quantification of degradation effects and supports reliable lifetime prediction of electrolysers. Congratulations to all ELECTROLIFE partners on reaching this milestone!
